Bajaj Auto's Q2 FY2022 Profits Grew 12% YoY To Rs. 1,275 Crore

Bajaj Auto has released its financial results for the second quarter (Q2) of FY2021-22. During the quarter that ended on September 30, 2021, the company witnessed a profit after tax (PAT) of Rs. 1,275 crore. That's an year-on-year growth of 12 per cent compared to Rs. 1,138 crore profit registered in Q2 FY2020-21. Between July and September 2021, Bajaj Auto's total revenue from operations stood at Rs. 8,762 crore, a rise of 22 per cent compared to the Rs. 7,156 crore revenue was generated during the same quarter in the previous fiscal year.

The company's profit after tax for the first half to Financial Year 2021-22 stood at Rs. 2,336 crore. Compared to H1 FY2021, when the company registered a profit of Rs. 1,666 core, Bajaj Auto witnessed a YoY growth of 40 per cent during the April-September 2021 period. The company's total revenue from operation for the aforementioned period this year, stood at Rs. 16,148 crore, that's a 58 per cent growth compared to Rs. 10,235 crore revenue generated in H1 FY2021.

Two-wheeler sales alone stood at 1,029,915 during the quarter that ended with September 30, 2021
In Q2 FY2022, Bajaj Auto's total sales stood at 1,144,407 units. Compared to 1,053,337 vehicles sold during the same quarter in the last fiscal year, the company witnessed a YoY growth of 9 per cent. Two-wheeler sales alone stood at 1,029,915 during the quarter that ended with September 30, 2021, out of which 488,148 units were sold in the domestic market and 541,767 units were exported. Bajaj Auto, the country's largest two-wheeler exported witnessed a 28 per cent growth for July-September 2021 period, with total exports standing at 612,191 units. The company's total sales for H1 FY2022 stood at 2,150,421 units, a 44 per cent growth compared to 1,496,440 sold between the same April to September period in 2020.

During Q2 FY2022, Bajaj Auto transferred 46.5 per cent of the total stake in KTM to PTW Holding AG, in return for 49.9 per cent stake in the latter's company
During the last quarter, Bajaj Auto, through its Netherlands-based subsidiary Bajaj Auto International Holdings BV (BAIHBV) has transferred 46.5 per cent of the total stake in KTM to PTW Holding AG, the majority stakeholder in Pierer Mobility AG. In return, BAIHBV has been granted 49.9 per cent stake in PTW Holding AG. The resultant gain in fair value of Rs. 501 crore is shown as an exceptional item in consolidated profit after tax of Bajaj Auto. Bajaj Auto will also gain by becoming an indirect stakeholder in other brands of the Austrian partner, including Husqvarna, GasGas and R Raymon.
