Honda CBR650R, CB650R Deliveries Begin In India

- Honda begins deliveries of CB650R & CBR650R in India
- Both middleweight bikes were launched in March 2021
- The first batch of the 2021 Honda Gold Wing Tour has been booked
Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India has begun deliveries of the 2021 Honda CBR650R and the CB650R neo cafe racer in India. The deliveries were made at the Honda BigWing Topline showroom in Mumbai and keys were handed over to 15 customers. The two middleweight motorcycles were launched in India in March 2021 and are priced at Rs. 8.67 lakh and Rs. 8.88 lakh (ex-showroom, Haryana) respectively. Both motorcycles were launched in India as completely knocked-down kits (CKD) and are sold via Honda's premium BigWing Topline and BigWing dealerships only.

Speaking on the occasion, Yadvinder Singh Guleria, Director - Sales & Marketing, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd., said, "As the situation improves and markets reopen with relaxation in COVID-19 restrictions, all Honda Big Wing touchpoints are operational following respective state protocols. Reigniting the excitement among waiting customers, we have started deliveries across locations and further see the interest of enthusiasts picking-up again with increasing enquiries for our products. We are also proud to share that our recently announced flagship model 'Gold Wing Tour' has been completely booked for the first CBU import lot."

The CB650R is built on the same platform as CBR650R and both motorcycles get the same 649 cc in-line four-cylinder engine which makes 86 bhp at 12,000 rpm along with 57.5 Nm of peak torque at 8,500 rpm. The motorcycles get a 6-speed gearbox with a slip and assist clutch.

The other big news is that first CBU batch of the newly launched 2021 Honda Gold Wing Tour has been completely booked although the size of the first lot hasn't been specified by the company. The motorcycle was launched barely a fortnight ago and prices for the motorcycle start at Rs. 37.20 lakh (ex-showroom). The 2021 Honda Gold Wing Tour gets a host of mechanical upgrades in a bid to meet the latest emission norms globally. The tourer draws power from the Euro5/BS6 compliant 1833 cc, in-line six-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that is tuned for 124.7 bhp at 5,500 rpm and 170 Nm of peak torque at 4,500 rpm. The motor is paired with two transmission options; 6-speed manual and a 7-speed DCT.
