Hero Re-Appoints Pawan Munjal As MD; New Senior Leadership Team Announced

Part of the Hero group, Pawan Munjal has led Hero MotoCorp in the aggressively growing two wheeler market, expanding not only domestically but across different continents as well. The past years have seen the company create presence in Latin America while establishing its first manufacturing setup outside India.
Accelerating home as well as global expansion, Hero has also brought in a new senior leadership team and has appointed Vikram Kasbekar as Head of Operations and Supply Chain. He has also been appointed to the Board of Directors of Hero. Vikram brings more than four decades of experience in the field of operations, supply chain, manufacturing and project engineering. He has been with Hero for close to 14 years in two stints and has contributed significantly to the growth of the organization.
As part of his new role, Kasbekar will continue to focus on manufacturing with an additional emphasis on risk mitigation, operational cost management and compliance and strategic focus on global operations strategy, the company said in a statement.

Furthermore, Hero has appointed Ms Neerja Sharma as the Company Secretary and Chief Compliance Officer. Ms Sharma has over 25 years of experience in governance and compliance as part of senior leadership teams across different companies. At Hero, she will work on ensuring the highest standards of ethics and transparency in corporate governance and work closely with the Board of Directors, the Hero leadership team, external stakeholders, shareholders, and regulatory bodies. Neerja will guide the team in the Secretarial function to address all the priorities and challenges and immensely enhance capabilities.
On the occasion leadership change announcements, Pawan Munjal, Chairman, MD and CEO, Hero MotoCorp said, "Hero is today a truly global brand with its presence in more than 32 countries spread across Asia, Africa and South and Central America. Over the years, we have set global benchmarks in creating world-class manufacturing and operational facilities to ensure that our products are best in class in terms of design, technology and quality."

This has become all the more pertinent in recent times, and the role of the Secretarial function has significantly enhanced. The elevation of Vikram to the Board and the appointment of Neerja demonstrate our commitment to expand our business aggressively by attaining new levels of growth, while we continue to maintain the highest standards of governance."
In addition to Vikram Kasbekar's elevation to the Board of Directors, Neeraj Mathur, Head of Strategic Sourcing and Supply Chain will now report directly to the CMD and CEO. Neeraj has been instrumental in setting up a systematic supply chain improvement program at Hero and is known to have mentored the company's supply chain partners and ancillaries, helping them enhance their functional capabilities and stitching together a very healthy eco system for future business growth.
