Hero MotoCorp Crosses Two Million Sales Mark In Q2 FY18


- This is the first time a two-wheeler company has done so
- Hero sold over 7 lakh units in September itself
- It sold more than 1 million units in this year's festive season
Hero MotoCorp is on a roll. The two-wheeler manufacturer has set a record of selling two million units globally in the second quarter of FY2017-18 (July-September 2017). This is the first time that any two-wheeler manufacturer has sold over 2 million units in a single quarter. The company sold a total of 20,222,805 units, showing a growth of 11 per cent over the number of units sold in the previous year's corresponding quarter. Hero says that the sales were driven by the likes of Splendor, Passion and Glamour etc. Earlier last month, the company set a record of selling over 7 lakh units in a single month, with the festive season proving to be good for the company.

Ashok Bhasin, Head of Sales, Marketing and Customer Care, Hero MotoCorp, said "Clocking 2 million sales in a quarter is highly gratifying and it's a moment of great pride for us. This landmark achievement in sales has been possible due to an excellent team effort of everyone at Hero and all our associates. Most importantly, we have accomplished this feat - powered by the affection of our ever growing family of consumers who have always reposed their overwhelming trust in the Hero Brands.

The company has crossed the four million sales mark in the current fiscal. The company says that its brand-specific regional strategy along with consumer-engagement program and integrated 360 degree 'Go-to-Market' approach has helped it to garner record-breaking sales. The company recently surpassed the 75 million unit sales mark ever since it started operations. Hero is hopeful that it will get in a decent number of sales before the festive season caps off after Diwali.
