Honda Amaze Privilege Edition Launched; Priced From Rs. 6.49 Lakh

Adding some novelty to its subcompact sedan, Honda Cars India has introduced the Honda Amaze Privilege Edition in the country. The limited edition model adds a host of new features to the sedan and is based on the S (O) MT variant. Prices for the Honda Amaze Privilege Edition start at Rs. 6.49 lakh for the petrol and Rs. 7.73 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom Delhi) for the diesel version. The limited edition model is Rs. 10,000 more expensive than the standard version. For the premium, here's what you get on the Honda Amaze Privilege Edition.
There are no changes to the exterior on the Amaze Privilege Edition
Honda has not made an exterior changes on the new Amaze Privilege Edition save for the new body graphics and a 'Privilege Edition' emblem on the boot. However, the adds on more extensive on the inside and include a new 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system that Honda likes to call - Digipad. The unit offers in-built satellite linked 3D navigation, 1.5 GB of internal storage, Mirror Link support for smartphone connectivity as well as internet access and live traffic via the optional WiFi receiver. The Digipad can also be accessed using voice commands and there's Bluetooth telephony option as well, in addition to AUX and USB connectivity.
The cabin is finished in a dual-tone shade and gets new beige seats
Furthermore, the Honda Amaze Privilege Edition gets beige seat covers with 'Privilege Edition' embossed on them. There is also a driver-side centre armrest, while the limited edition version now gets rear parking sensors as well. The S (O) already comes with dual airbags and ABS in the diesel trim.
Speaking about the Privilege Edition of Amaze, Honda Cars India - Sr. Vice President, Marketing & Sales, Jnaneswar Sen said, "Our endeavor has always been to offer best in class features to our customers and we are happy to offer the Privilege Edition of the Honda Amaze with Digipad for advanced infotainment. The new edition with its enhanced value is a compelling offer for our Amaze customers and is available as limited edition."

The centre armrest is new
The Honda Amaze arrived as a game changer for the automaker in 2013 and has been a popular seller ever since with over 2.4 lakh units sold. However, the subcompact sedan space is now flooded with options, and most of these rivals have seen extensive upgrades over the years. The segment leading Maruti Suzuki Dzire moved to its third generation earlier this year and still owns the volumes, while there is new competition from the Tata Tigor and Volkswagen Ameo. The Hyundai Xcent and Ford Aspire also received updates this year.
The Amaze will move to its second generaton next year
That said, the Honda Amaze is due for a comprehensive update and that will happen when model moves into its new generation next year. We told you earlier this year that development for the next gen Honda Amaze is underway and the model could make its debut at the 2018 Auto Expo. The market launch is expected sometime around the festive season next year.
