In reply to carandbike.com, Mahindra Electric CEO, Mahesh Babu said, "Considering the value proposition that the e2oPlus offers, we believe that retail Indian customers will find more value in e2oPlus than e2o. Hence, we are not producing e2os for retail customers in India."
Adding further he said, "The e2o will continue to sell in the export market, where the 2 door vehicles are popular and are preferred by our customers." The company also put an end to rumours suggesting that the two door model well be available on a made-to-order basis. Babu said, "We do not have any plans for made to order of 2 door in India."

Mahindra e2oPlus
The Mahindra e2o two-door was introduced in 2013 and was the first product under the Mahindra Reva brand. The e2o may have not been the ideal electric car out there, it was certainly the first to kickstart the segment. Being a zero-emissions vehicle, the model also received Indian government's FAME subsidy, that helped shave a good Rs. 2 lakh off the asking price. However, the lack of infrastructure and practicality, as well as the high pricing deterred buyers.
Power on the e2o two-door was derived from an electric motor tuned to produce 25.5bhp and 53Nm of torque with a top speed of 120 km/h. With the Mahindra e2oPlus, the company has worked upon several departments of the EV and the model now sports a longer wheelbase, improved boot capacity, and a more powerful electric motor that churns out 41bhp at 3500rpm and 91Nm of torque at 2500rpm, paired to an automatic transmission. The electric motor also gets a bigger battery that supports a range of 140 km. The car comes with a top speed of 85 km/h.
The Mahindra e2oPlus is available in three variants - P4, P6 and P8 - priced between Rs. 5.46 lakh going up to Rs. 8.46 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
