Mahindra jumped into the MotoGP Racing scene in 2011 and in 2014 completed its third year in the Moto3 Class with its own 250cc motorcycle - the Mahindra MGP3O. The racing team has had its ups and downs and put up an impressive fight in the first season.

In the 2014 season, Mahindra Racing began supplying three customer teams in the Moto3 World Championship. In 2015, though Mahindra has decided on not fielding a factory team. Instead, it will enter the Moto3 World Championship as a full-fledged constructor.

Mahindra will supply 9 motorcycles to four customer teams including the Aspar Team. Aspar is run by four-time riders' champion Jorge Martinez and over the years, his team has finished on the podium. Mahindra Racing will work closely with Martinez's team to develop and deliver better results in 2015.

Under the new structure, the Aspar Team will concentrate on running the team and developing the riders, while Mahindra Racing will focus on developing the bike. To facilitate this, Mahindra Racing has recently opened a new European technical base at Besozzo in Northern Italy.

Anand Mahindra said, "We are strengthening our technical skills by opening this technical centre and this becomes part of our neural network of innovation along with other R&D facilities in India, Korea and the US."
