New Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire To Be Manufactured At The Manesar Plant

- The new plant at Gujarat will also manufacture the Maruti Suzuki Baleno
- The new-gen Swift Dzire will be debuted in 2018
- It might get new engines as well
Maruti Suzuki is currently working on developing the next generation Swift Dzire, its compact sedan and is said to debut it sometime in 2018. This will be the second car after the Baleno that Maruti Suzuki will produce from its existing plant in Manesar, Haryana, and not the Gujarat plant which is expected to start production in full flow from January-February, 2017. Initially, the assembly line will roll out 85,000 units of the Baleno, with 50 per cent of the units being petrol and the rest being diesel.
Also, the new generation Swift and Swift Dzire will be built on an all-new platform. The new Swift will make its debut next year or so. The new platform is said to be derived from the platform on which the current Balenos are manufacture. It will make the cars lighter by 50-80kgs. Suzuki is working on new diesel engines and that might make its debut when the new cars are launched. Also, the company might offer the 1.0-litre Boosterjet turbo petrol engines on the new Swift and Swift Dzire.
As far as styling is concerned, the new-gen cars will have angular lines, which will be a departure from the current design language. The length of the new cars will be kept below 4 metres so as to avail of the benefits and to also keep the pricing competitive. Also, in the Volkswagen Ameo and the Tata Tiago based compact sedan, the new car will have tough competition along with the likes of the Honda Amaze and Ford Figo Aspire. Therefore, Maruti Suzuki will have to keep the pricing of the new car in check.
