Spied: Next-Gen Suzuki Swift's Cabin Revealed

- The new-gen Suzuki Swift's cabin has been completely redesigned
- The 2017 Swift comes with a number of design and cosmetic changes
- The car is set to be unveiled at the 2016 Paris Motor Show
It was just a couple of days ago when we brought you the latest spy images of the next generation Suzuki Swift hatchback. Now, we have come across what are possibly the first clear images of the 2017 Suzuki Swift's cabin. While the images only reveal the dashboard, it is more than enough to tell us that the cabin of the next-gen model will see a host of changes both in terms of design and features. Suzuki will unveil the car at the 2016 Paris Motor Show, in October.

Next-Gen Suzuki Swift Cabin
Suzuki has completely redesigned the dashboard and it looks edgier and way more upmarket. The most prominent addition to the cabin is the new multi-functional flat-bottom steering wheel, which we were already expecting in the upgraded model. Among other smart features, there is a new part-digital-part-analogue instrument cluster with a vertical LCD colour display at the centre with the tachometer and speedometer on each side. The current horizontal Air-Con vents have been replaced with circular ones and there is a larger silver panel right below them. The car now also gets a new audio system, which is a bit similar to what you find in the lower models of the Baleno. It is likely to come with all the usual goodies like - Bluetooth/AUX-IN/USB connectivity, Radio, and CD/Mp3 player among others. Also, now the car comes with larger Air-Con dials and a shifter that has been picked up from the new Baleno.

2017 Suzuki Swift Front
As for the exteriors profile of the car, the next-gen Suzuki Swift will be a lot different compared to the outgoing model. The next-gen model will also be a lot lighter than the current Swift, and yet it will be about 50mm longer - which means the cabin space might be enhanced. The lighter weight can be attributed to the use of Suzuki's new global platform that also underpins the Baleno and Ignis. The front section of the car has been completely redesigned and now the bonnet line ends a few inches before the new large hexagonal grille starts. The car comes with new headlamps that are still swept back but the design is new and comes with integrated turn signal lights. The new Swift also gets a sportier front bumper with slim central air dam, large air intakes, and round fog lamps.

2017 Suzuki Swift Side View
The side profile of the car does look a bit similar to the outgoing model but not exactly alike. The car come with a more sloping roofline now and the shoulder lines are also broader, there are new sleeker ORVMs with integrated turn lights and bolder character lines. The test mule seen in these images came with some new sporty alloy wheels and all four disc brakes. The rear profile of the car has also changed a lot as the updated Swift now gets new slightly boxy wraparound tail lamps, a bolder hatch, rear windscreen wiper, and a beefy rear bumper with a large number plate housing.

2017 Suzuki Swift Rear
Under the hood the new-gen Suzuki Swift will come with 3 new engine options - a tweaked version of the 1 litre, 3 cylinder BoosterJet engine that powers the Baleno RS/Ignis, an updated 1.2 K-Series engine and subsequently a 140 bhp, 1.4 litre BoosterJet, 4 cylinder petrol motor for the Swift Sport that will only be produced as a 2018 model.
