Tata Motors Joins Hands With Petronas to Launch Engine Oil in India

The Tata Motors Genuine Oil is the first of the nine co-branded product that will be jointly developed by Tata Motors and Petronas. The companies have initiated the range with TMGO for diesel passenger cars, which will soon be followed by the TMGO 80EP, for petrol vehicles. According to the company the entire product range will be in the market within next 8-9 months.
Sharing his views on this new partnership, Mr. Dinesh Bashin, the head of Customer Service, Passenger Vehicle Business, Tata Motors said, "Tata Motors has always worked with a customer centric approach and providing its customers with the best post-purchase experience. With the new co-branded Tata Motors Genuine Oil range of lubricants now available, we are creating a distinct & differentiated value proposition in the market. Further he also added, "We are happy to have partnered with Petronas in developing this range for our vehicles. With a commitment to deliver better performance, TMGO will offer trusted support to our customers and will further enhance the customer experience."
As for Mr. M.P. Singh, CEO, Petronas Lubricant (India) Pvt Ltd, said that with 40% CAGR the company is currently aiming to gain 5% market share in India by 2019. Talking about their new partnership, Mr. Singh said, "Petronas Lubricant (PLI) is now entering the next wave of growth in line with our aspiration and we are confident that the coming together of Tata Motors, a highly-respected leader in automotive engineering, together with PLI will help us better our position in this market as a leading provider of premium lubricant."
The companies also claimed that the new range of branded lubricant have been formulated from high performance base oils and additives, providing optimum engine performance through excellent deposit control and wear protection. Mr. Singh also mentioned that company in looking forward to strengthening its foothold in the market and to do that Petronas has invested close to $ 60 million to develop a new manufacturing plant in India near Mumbai. The plant will most likely be operational by the end of cylinder year 2017.
