Tata Vista Hatchback and Manza Sedan Discontinued

The Indica, when launched in 1998 in India stayed with Tata's when they brought out the next generation of cars. When they pumped up the power in the petrol engine to 90bhp, Tata insisted that the new generation of cars be called the Vista and not the Indica Vista.
Well, the name 'Indica' might have been erased, but the memories of the car stay. But then came HorizonNext, and that move promised a whole new generation of cars - a generation with new cars and new badges. The Zest and the Bolt were the first to hit the scene and now there's the Zica which will be launched in January 2016. (All You Need to Know About Tata Zica)
The advent of the Zest and Bolt sounded the death knell for the Vista and the Manza and the company has decided to discontinue both these cars. While the Vista was a move away from the Indica with a bit more added to the looks, the Manza marked Tata's entry into the sedan segment. When launched, both the cars came with segment leading features like Bluetooth, USB and Aux-in. Though boxy in its looks, the Manza was one of the roomiest sedans in the segment and the premium features of the car added to the overall appeal.

Though it came with all the goodies, the Manza wasn't exactly a design phenomenon and that is where it lost most of its customers when cars like the Honda City, Toyota Etios and the Volkswagen Vento hit the scene. But the competition has seen a rise since the time the Manza was launched and the company sold an average of 130 units of the car in 2014. From July 2015, both the Manza and the Vista haven't made any contributions to the sales, which might be one of the reasons for the move to discontinue them.
