Tata Zest Launching on August 12, 2014

The long wait for the much-anticipated Tata Zest will finally get over on August 12, 2014. The Zest will be the first all-new product based on the company's 'DesigNext, DriveNext, ConnectNext' philosophy. The company recently rolled out the first batch of the upcoming sub-compact sedan from its Ranjangaon, Maharashtra based facility and has also started taking pre-orders for the car.
The Zest will be offered with two engine options: a 1.2-litre MPFi turbochraged Revtron petrol engine and a 1.3-litre multijet diesel motors. While the diesel mill is the same as the one that powers the Vista, the 1.2-litre Revtron is Tata's all-new turbocharged petrol engine that has been 'designed to deliver superior performance, power, torque and mileage'. Other than a 5-speed manual transmission, Tata will also offer an AMT (Automated Manual Transmission) powered diesel variant.

While engines had never been an issue with Tata cars, Tata's focus on design is far stronger this time. The Zest is the first car to adorn the company's new design language. The car has been designed with inputs from the three Tata Motors' design studios in Pune, Coventry (UK) and Turin (Italy). The new design semantics include the new Tata signature grille with the new 'Humanity Line', which flows into the head-lamps. Other attractive design elements include projector head-lamps with chrome accents, the rear treatment of LED lamps, and a new set of 15-inch alloy wheels among others.
