Two-Wheeler Sales January 2021: TVS Registers 31% Y-o-Y Sales Growth

- Domestic two-wheeler TVS sales stood at 2.94 lakh units in January 2021
- Motorcycle sales grew by 45%, registering 136,790 units last month
- Two-wheeler exports registered a growth of 56% with 89,380 units
TVS Motor Company today officially announced sales figures for January 2021. The company retailed 307,149 units in January 2021 as against 234,920 units in the corresponding month of 2020, registering sales growth of 31 per cent. Compared to December 2020 during which brand's total sales stood at 272,084 units, TVS has recorded a month-on-month (M-o-M) growth of over 12 per cent. TVS reported overall two-wheeler sales of 294,596 units recording a growth of 34 per cent over 220,439 units in the same month a year ago.

TVS sold 136,790 units in January 2021 as against 94,367 units in January 2020, recording a growth of 45 per cent
The domestic two-wheeler sales increased by 26 per cent as the company sold 205,216 units last month compared to 163,007 units in January 2020. Motorcycle sales grew by 45 per cent with 1,36,790 units last month, as against 94,367 units in the corresponding month last year. Scooter sales also grew by 36 per cent, with 98,319 scooters despatched during the month of January 2021, compared to 72,383 units in January 2020.

As far as exports are concerned, the company exported a total of 100,926 units in January 2021 compared to 70,784 units in January 2020, recording a growth of 43 per cent. Two-wheeler exports consisted of 89,380 units last month as against 57,432 units in January 2020, a growth of 56 per cent. The total three-wheelers sold by TVS Motor Company stood at 12,553 units in January 2021, against 14,481 units in January 2020. The company recorded a de-growth of 13.3 per cent.
