Two-Wheeler Sales July 2021: Strong Exports Help TVS Sales Grow 10 %

- Overall motorcycles sales of TVS grew by 31 per cent in July 2021
- Two-wheeler exports grew by 62 per cent in July 2021
- Overall sales of TVS in July 2021 recroded at over 2.78 lakh units
TVS Motor Company has reported overall sales growth of 10 per cent in July 2021. The company's overall sales accounted for 2,78,855 units in July 2021, compared to 2,52,744 units in July 2020. Total two-wheeler sales registered a growth of 8 per cent with sales of 2,62,728 units in July 2021, as against sales of 2,43,788 units in July 2020. In the domestic market, two-wheeler sales actually fell by 7.6 per cent from 1,89,647 units in July 2020 to 1,75,169 units in July 2021. Although overall motorcycle sales (both domestic and export markets) grew by 30 per cent, overall scooter sales in July 2021 were under pressure.

TVS motorcycle sales grew by nearly 31 per cent with over 1.38 lakh unit sales in July 2021
Motorcycle sales accounted for 1,38,772 units in July 2021, as against sales of 1,06,062 units in July 2020. Scooter sales of the company registered 74,351 units in July 2021, as against sales of 78,603 units in July 2020. TVS Motor Company's three-wheeler sales registered a growth of 80 per cent, with sales of 16,127 units in July 2021, as against sales of 8,956 units in the same month a year ago.

Motorcycle exports in July 2021 grew by 62 per cent, contributing to strong overall export growth of 65 per cent

But TVS Motor Company's overall exports grew by 65 per cent, which put overall sales in July 2021 in the green. Overall sales in overseas markets in July 2021 stood at 1,03,133 units, a 65 per cent growth from 62,839 units in July 2020. Two-wheeler sales in overseas markets registered a growth of 62 per cent with sales of 87,559 units, compared to 54,141 units in July 2020. According to a statement from the company, the demand in the export market continues to be robust, and container availability is improving. The coming months could see further growth in export numbers.
