Auto Sales March 2022: Mahindra's Passenger Vehicle Sales Grow 65% YoY, At 27,603 Units

- The company's total sales from PV and CV + exports were 54,643 units
- The company's total exports on the other hand stood at 3,160 units
Homegrown automaker Mahindra & Mahindra has released the monthly sales numbers for March 2022. Last month the company's total passenger vehicle sales stood at 27,603 units, a year-on-year growth of 65 per cent compared to 16,700 vehicles that were sold in March 2021. Out of this, utility vehicles accounted for 27,380 units, whereas combined sales of cars and vans, which include EVs, stood at 223 units. The company's total sales, including passenger vehicles + commercial vehicles + exports combined, stood at 54,643 units, witnessing a growth of 43 per cent compared to 40,376 units sold in March 2021.

Out of the total PV sales, utility vehicles accounted for 27,380 units
Commenting on the company's sales performance, Veejay Nakra, Chief Executive Officer, Automotive Division, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., "We continued our growth trajectory in March 2022 with overall sales of 54,643 vehicles, a growth of 35 per cent. Demand continues to be strong, even as we remain watchful of the global supply chain and take appropriate action, as required."
In the commercial vehicle segment, last month Mahindra's total sales in the domestic market stood at 19,837 units, a YoY growth of 16 per cent compared to 17,116 vehicles sold in March 2021. At the same time, in March 2022, Mahindra's total three-wheeler sales, including electric three-wheelers, stood at 4,043, a decline of 9 per cent, compared to 4,461 units sold during the same month in 2021. The company's total exports on the other hand stood at 3,160 units, a YoY growth of 49 per cent compared to 2,126 units exported in March 2021.
