Car Sales September 2017: Tata Motors' Sales Grow By 18 Per Cent

- Tata Motors sold a total of 17,286 units of passenger vehicles in Sept.
- The overall sales were 53,965 units (incuding passenger & comm. vehicles)
- Festive season, positive customer sentiment are reasons for the growth
Tata Motors too had a good September with the company selling 17,286 units and growing by 18 per cent over September 2016. Tata Motors says that the newly launched Nexon compact SUV has got quite a positive response. In September 2017, Tata Motors passenger vehicles, recorded sales of 17,286 units, growth of 18 per cent, over September 2016. This was augmented by the strong growth momentum for new generation vehicles Tiago, Tigor and Hexa. The newly launched compact SUV, Tata Nexon has also received a tremendous response in the market. The cumulative sale of passenger vehicles for the domestic market for the period of April-September 2017 was 81,417 units. This is a growth of 12 per cent compared to 72,665 units sold during the same period last year. On the other hand the exports of the company for the month of September 2017 dropped by 27 per cent, selling 3,887 units.

Mayank Pareek, President, Passenger Vehicles Business Unit, Tata Motors, said, "With a growth of 18 per cent in September 2017, we have recorded highest sales since November 2012, backed by our strong portfolio of new generation products like Tiago, Hexa and Tigor. Our recently launched lifestyle SUV- Nexon, has received an encouraging response across markets and we hope to further expand our addressable market."
The overalls sales including passenger vehicles and commercial vehicles for Tata Motors, was 53,965 units. This was a growth of 25 per cent over the same period last year. The company said that the growth came on the back of booming demand thanks to festive season, positive customer sentiment, strong customer connect initiatives and of course, introduction of new products as well.
