Mahindra Recalls XUV500 for Airbag Software Update
Highlights
Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., India's leading UV manufacturer, yesterday announced a recall of the XUV500 for an upgrade of the side curtain airbag software. This upgrade is limited only to a software change & no parts will be replaced, and affects only the XUV500 vehicles manufactured on or before July, 2014. Affected customers will be contacted by the company and will not be charged for the upgrade.
The company said the proactive inspection/upgradation is in keeping with its customer-centric approach. As part of Mahindra's endeavour to ensure a hassle free experience for its customers, the company is proactively upgrading the airbag software. Incidentally, this is also in keeping with SIAM's voluntary code on vehicle recall.
Customers can also visit the 'Service Action' section of the website and check whether their vehicle is part of the service action.
