Mahindra Showcases Its EV Range At The Pune Alternate Fuel Conclave

    Joining multiple other EV manufacturers, Mahindra displayed its range of electric vehicles at the Alternate Fuel Conclave being held in Pune, Maharashtra. Mahindra, who has the largest market share at 73.4 per cent in the electric 3-wheeler space showcased a variety of 3-wheelers, including Treo auto, Treo Zor delivery van, Treo Tipper variant, and e Alfa Mini Tipper variant.

    Another EV showcased by Mahindra was the Atom quadricycle. Earlier seen in the Auto Expo 2020, the Atom is the only electric quadricycle in India, with launch slated for this fiscal year. The quadricycle brings in a new way of transport, as the tiny 4-wheeler should be able to manoeuvre its way through city traffic and narrow roads easily. The EV also features telematics connectivity to aid fleet management, and is underpinned by a monocoque body.

    Speaking about the event, Maharashtra State Environment and Tourism Minister Aaditya Thackeray said that Pune is an auto hub and therefore, an ideal venue for the conclave.

    "The Pune Alternate Fuel Conclave 2022 provides a great platform to not only showcase technologically advanced vehicles but also allows customers to experience them firsthand", Suman Mishra, CEO of Mahindra Electric Mobility Limited added.

    Mahindra also showcased their e Alfa Mini Tipper for the first time to the public. The variant, aimed at garbage disposal duties, has separate compartments for wet and dry garbage, with the tipping angle being at 40 degrees. The EV is equipped with batteries enough for an 80 km range and has a motor with 1.5kW peak power. The EV also offers 310 kg load carrying capacity.

    Adding to the display was another 3-wheeler from Mahindra, the Treo Tipper. The EV made its public  debut in the conclave, and is based on the Mahindra Treo platform. The vehicle has a payload capacity of 578 kg without the waste bin, and has an electric motor that puts out 8kW power.
