Mahindra XUV700 Bookings Cross 50,000 Mark

- The Mahindra XUV700 is the new flagship SUV in the carmaker's portfolio.
- It bagged over 50,000 bookings in just two days.
- The second batch of 25,000 bookings came in just two hours.
The new Mahindra XUV700 has quite literally been a runaway success for the automaker. Bookings for the new SUV were first opened on October 07 and in just 57 minutes the company received and overwhelming 25,000 bookings for the 2021 Mahindra XUV700. Now on October 08 which is the second day the company again received over 25,000 bookings in just within two hours the booking window opened, thus crossing the 50,000 bookings milestone in just two days. And this second batch of bookings came despite Mahindra increasing the price by an average of Rs. 50,000 for the new XUV700. Not to put this in perspective, the ex-showroom value of these 50,000 units will add a whopping Rs. 10,000 crore to Mahindra revenue from sales.

The new Mahindra XUV700 is offered in two trim options- MX and AX.
Mahindra had already said at the launch that the introductory prices were applicable for the first 25,000 bookings and prices have been hiked by Rs. 50,000. The new Mahindra XUV700 is offered in two trim options- MX and AX, and the former is only offered with a manual transmission. The AX series in-turn gets three variants - AX3, AX5 and AX7. All three get petrol and diesel engine options, and both are offered in manual and automatic transmission choices. After the launch, Mahindra also added two additional higher spec variants- AX7 Luxury MT priced at Rs. 19.99 lakh, while the new top-end AX7 Luxury AT AWD trim is priced at Rs. 22.89 lakh.

Mahindra also added two additional higher spec variants- XUV700 AX7 Luxury MT and XUV700 AX7 Luxury AT AWD.
The Mahindra XUV700 petrol gets a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder mStallion turbocharged petrol engine that puts out 197 bhp and 380 Nm of peak torque. The engine comes mated to either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic torque converter gearbox. The Mahindra XUV700 diesel is powered by a 2.2-litre, four-cylinder mHawk oil burner that is offered in three states of tune. In the base MX variant, it is tuned to churn out 153 bhp and 360 Nm and gets a six-speed manual gearbox as standard. In the AX variants, it offers 182 bhp, and while the one with the six-speed manual develops a peak torque of 420 Nm, the one with a six-speed automatic torque converter offers 450 Nm.
