Maruti Suzuki Baleno Bookings Open; Launch on October 26

Bookings for the car have been opened at the dealer level and there is no official announcement made by the company. Dealers are taking in bookings for a sum of Rs. 25000. The Baleno will not replace the Swift but will make way for a range of products from the Maruti stable. With 100 Nexa dealerships already up in India, Maruti Suzuki looks to up the ante in the premium hatchback segment with this offering.

The India-bound model could be offered with a 1.3-litre multijet diesel engine and a more-powerful version of the 1.2-litre K-Series petrol unit and there is also a CVT in the line-up. The Suzuki Baleno is based on the Japanese carmaker's new-generation platform, which has been designed to efficiently increase vehicle's rigidity while reducing its weight via redesign of the under-body structure and optimising overall vehicle design including parts mounted under-body.
Upon its launch, the Maruti Suzuki YRA will take on the likes of Hyundai i20, Honda Jazz and Volkswagen Polo.
