Italian design house Pininfarina has been awarded the COMPANYBEST 2022 award by the largest independent jury in Europe, AUTOBEST. Journalists from over 30 countries voted for the iconic Italian automotive design company, which made the award possible. Established in 1930, Pininfarina remains one of the most coveted automotive design houses finding its base in Turin, Italy. The company has been behind some of the most influential designs across automotive history over decades.

Pininfarina has worked with brands like Alfa Romeo, Lancia, Peugeot, Maserati and Ferrari. It's currently owned by Mahindra & Mahindra and has given its inputs in the company's modern product range as well. Pininfarina has also been supporting new automotive brands such as VinFast, Vietnam's first carmaker, as well as Foxconn.
The brand has been known for its classic style and that have stood the test of time. What many won't know is that it's also contributed immensely towards industrial design, architecture, experience design, nautical and all-around mobility. The Pininfarina group employs about 500 people across the world.
Speaking about the achievement, Silvio Angori, CEO of Pininfarina, said, "We are very proud of this award which recognizes our achievements and confirms that we are an international reference point for the automotive world. The award testifies to the hard work and passion of our team, our resilience to difficulties and new challenges and, above all, our desire to constantly evolve to offer our customers advanced design services and products."

The AUTOBEST AWARDS 2022 also crowned the Dacia Spring EV as the 'Best Buy Car of Europe In 2022.' The Renault K-ZE based offering managed to beat the Skoda Fabia and the Opel Mokka for the top spot. "With an outstanding range and energy efficiency, the small EV impressed many of the 32 Jury members making the victory on a European level. At AUTOBEST we believe that next year, Spring will make an important contribution to the democratisation of the EV's in Europe," stated Ilia Seliktar, President of the Jury.
Furthermore, the Renault Megane E-Tech won the ECOBEST 2022 award while the new-generation Isuzu D-Max won the SAFETYBEST 2022 award as the first pickup to score five stars in the Euro NCAP crash tests. The Mercedes-Benz MBUX Hyperscreen in the EQS won the SMARTBEST 2022 award. Croatian innovator, entrepreneur, and founder of the Rimac Automobili, Mate Rimac was inducted into the MANBEST Hall of Fame.

Launched in 2001, AUTOBEST offers a buying guide to European car customers. For it to be awarded by AUTOBEST, cars must represent the best offer for the majority of customers, says the company. The awards process factors in price, service network, spare parts distribution, as well as design and new technologies. The awards follow a transparent voting system with 13 criteria to meet.
