Key Highlights
- The Bajaj Dominar 400 was first launched in 2016
- It uses the same engine as the KTM 390 Duke, but is de-tuned
- It offers solid road presence
The Bajaj Dominar 400 was first launched in 2016 and managed to capture the imagination of enthusiasts by offering a budget performance model, which took inspiration from the KTM 390 Duke, but wasn't as extreme, yet offered fun and engaging performance. Described as a power cruiser, the Dominar 400 could be the one-in-all motorcycle every rider seeks - the daily commuter, performance cruiser and most of all, the long distance tourer, promising easy ride ability and comfort. But, before you do go ahead and get a used model for yourself, here's a list of pros and cons that you should refer too.

2019 Bajaj Dominar 400
Pros
- The Dominar 400 offers solid performance. The 373 cc single cylinder engine makes 34.5 bhp and 34 Nm, on the BS4 model that is. Be it daily commutes or highway rides, the Dominar 400 has enough performance to keep you happy.
- The Bajaj Dominar 400 gets 43 mm USD fork up front, a slipper clutch and an LCD instrument console along with a small display on the fuel tank, making for a decent features list. Top-spec models also come with dual-channel disc brakes.
- Full LED lighting is yet another advantage that the Dominar offers.
- The styling of the Bajaj Dominar is that of a power-cruiser. The motorcycle does offer solid, muscular road presence along with good quality fit and finish.
Cons
- With a kerb weight of 184.5 kg, it is heavy. New riders may take some time getting used to the weight, especially in traffic.
- At 13 litres, the fuel tank is smaller than some of its rivals. Yes, it will offer 350 km plus range, but a little more range would have been welcome, especially for a bike that is billed as a touring machine.
