Tata Sierra Launch Highlights: Price, Specifications, Features, Images

Tata Motors is finally set to launch the reborn Sierra in India today. The company will reveal complete details about the SUV, including its dimensions, features, powertrain choices and, most importantly, its pricing.
The new Sierra’s journey began at the 2020 Auto Expo, where it debuted as an electric concept. A near-production EV version followed at the 2023 Auto Expo, giving a clearer glimpse of the SUV’s direction. Earlier this year, Tata also showcased the internal-combustion-engine (ICE) iteration at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Expo. And now, after several previews and refinements, the production-ready Sierra is finally here.
Tata Motors will reveal all details of the Sierra today, including its price, features, variants and powertrain options. Stay tuned to this space to know all about the SUV.

Ahead of the price reveal, here’s a look at everything known so far about Tata’s upcoming Hyundai Creta rival and what more you can expect from it.

Starting with the exterior, the production-spec Sierra closely resembles the version displayed at the Bharat Mobility Expo. It retains its boxy silhouette, with strong character lines, a flat bonnet and a neat, upright front fascia.

The SUV also features glossy black cladding along the sides and underbody, as well as a chunky wheel-arch treatment and new 19-inch alloys.

At the rear, the design continues with connected LED taillamps, a high-mounted spoiler with an integrated stop lamp, a solid-looking bumper and silver faux skid plates.

Tata will offer the SUV in six monotone colours: Pristine White, Pure Grey, Coorg Clouds, Bengal Rouge, Andaman Adventure and Munnar Mist.

Inside, one of the talking points is the ‘TheaterPro’ triple-screen setup that stretches across the dashboard. You get a digital instrument cluster, a large infotainment unit in the centre, and a separate screen for the co-driver.

Shailesh Chandra, MD and CEO, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles, takes the stage and commences the launch event.

Before kickstarting on the main bit, Chandra sheds some light on the OG Sierra from the '90s.

Tata provides a quick look at some of the key numbers regarding space in the all-new Sierra.

Built on the newer ARGOS platform, the Sierra is engineered to support all-wheel drive, though it won’t be offered initially, and is also compatible with a multi-fuel setup.

The Sierra brings a set of new-age connectivity features and comfort-focused innovations. Some of these come from existing tech partnerships, while others are the result of newly formed collaborations.

CONFIRMED: Three sets of engine options will be offered with the Sierra.
The Sierra will debut two new petrol engines: a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated Revotron and a 1.5-litre TGDI Hyperion. It will also offer a 1.5-litre Kyrojet diesel.

Tata went one step further with the crash testing of the new Sierra. The carmaker has conducted a car-to-car head-on crash test.
On the safety front, the Sierra is built to handle an impact force of 48 tonnes at 64 kmph. The frontal car-to-car crash was done at 50 kmph with a 50% offset, using occupants simulated to mirror a family setup.

Here are a few more figures that highlight the amount of space the new Sierra offers inside the cabin.

Coming back to the powertrain, the new naturally aspirated petrol has dual injectors, cooled EGR, and, according to Tata, it is ready for a higher ethanol blend.

Some key powertrain details:
The 1.5 TGDI comes paired with a 6-speed automatic, producing 150 PS (148 bhp) and 255 Nm of torque.|
The 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol is offered with a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed DCT, developing 108 PS (106 bhp) and 145 Nm.
As for the diesel, the 1.5 Kyrojet delivers 118 PS (116 bhp) and 260 Nm, with transmission options including a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic.

Tata has sourced the Sierra’s six-speed torque-converter automatic from Aisin Japan. The diesel engine, for its part, produces 280 Nm, which Tata claims is the highest in its segment.

Both the front and rear of the Sierra use slim LED lighting elements, engineered by Marelli Motherson.

A lounge-style rear seat pays homage to the first-gen Sierra, and the cabin is complemented by a range of contemporary comfort features.

The third screen supports separate music, gaming or entertainment functions, and can be paired with JBL headphones for private listening.

Tata highlights increased practicality in the Sierra’s cabin, offering more space and convenient storage solutions for occupants.

Included in the ADAS and safety suite is the 4Sight 360-degree camera, which shows front and rear surroundings whenever the blind-spot alert is activated.
