TVS Jupiter Scooter Crosses 2 Million Sales Milestone In 4 Years

The TVS Jupiter is the one of the company's bestselling offerings and has achieved a new milestone with sales crossing the 2 million mark. The Hosur-based manufacturer announced that the Jupiter scooter crossed the 20 lakh sales mark since its launch in 2013. The 2 million mark comes in just a little over a year after the 1 million mark was achieved in early 2016. In fact, the TVS Jupiter was the fastest scooter to reach the 1 million sales mark in just 30 months of launch. The Jupiter is now the fastest scooter to break the 2 million sales barrier in just four years of launch.
Commenting on the achievement, TVS Motor Company - Vice President (Marketing) Commuter Motorcycles, Scooters and Corporate Brand, Aniruddha Haldar said, "It brings us immense delight to see that TVS Jupiter is surpassing milestone after milestone since its launch. A distant second in sales to the Honda Activa in the scooter segment, the TVS Jupiter was been appreciated for its extensive set of features and a refined as well as frugal engine. The scooter draws power from a 110 cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine tuned to produce 7.8 bhp at 7500 rpm and 8 Nm of peak torque at 5500 rpm, while paired to a CVT unit.
The TVS Jupiter comes with a metal body that is preferred by the a healthy amount of buyers and also gets an Econometer that helps the rider regulate between the Eco mode and Power mode, for enhanced fuel economy. TVS also introduced an optional front disc brake on the Jupiter earlier this year that is available on the range-topping ZX variant. Other features on the Jupiter include Sync Braking System (SBS) and a USB charging socket.
More recently, TVS launched the Jupiter Classic Edition that adds a retro look to the scooter. The Classic Edition comes in a new sunlit ivory body colour, full chrome mirrors and a tall windscreen. You also get a classy pillion cushioned backrest and a dual tone seat on the special edition model.
