TVS Rolls Out 1,00,000th BMW 310 cc Motorcycle From Hosur Plant

- TVS manufactures the BMW 310 motorcycles at its Hosur facility
- TVS also has the Apache RR 310 based on the common platform
- The made-in-India BMW G 310 bikes are exported to 120 countries
TVS Motor Company has announced the roll out of the 100,000th unit of BMW Motorrad's 310 cc series motorcycles. The BMW G 310 GS was rolled out of TVS Motor Company's manufacturing facility in Hosur, Tamil Nadu, by KN Radhakrishnan, Director and CEO, TVS Motor Company, and Rainer Baumel, Head of Products, 1-, 2-Cylinder and Urban Mobility, BMW Motorrad. Three motorcycles are manufactured at the Hosur facility based on the 310 cc common platform, the BMW G 310 R, the BMW G 310 GS and the TVS Apache RR 310. In 2013, TVS Motor Company and BMW Motorrad signed a cooperation agreement to develop and produce sub-500 cc motorcycles for the global market.

The TVS Apache RR 310 is built on the common 310 cc platform, which also has the BMW G 310 R and BMW G 310 GS.

The new BMW G 310 R is Rs. 54,000 less expensive, while the BMW G 310 GS is now Rs. 64,000 less expensive than the outgoing BS4 model

TVS Motor Company's Hosur manufacturing plant produces around 10 per cent of BMW Motorrad's volumes globally. The BMW Motorrad models, the BMW G 310 R and BMW 310 GS are now available in 120 countries. TVS has been constantly upgrading its motorcycle range, including the TVS Apache RR 310 which was recently unveiled with the Built to Order (BTO) platform, offering performance kits and equipment which makes it possible for Apache RR 310 customers to get a track-ready bike, straight from the factory.
