2021 Mahindra XUV700 SUV Teased Again; To Get Driver Drowsiness Detection Feature

- The Mahindra XUV700 SUV will go on sale around September this year

The upcoming XUV700 is one of the highly awaited products from Mahindra's stable, which is expected to make its India debut in the coming months. The home-grown automaker has been teasing the XUV700 on its social media platforms for a while now. In a new teaser, the carmaker has revealed that the SUV will feature a driver drowsiness detection feature. We already know that the 2021 Mahindra XUV700 will be equipped with features like auto booster headlamps, personalised safety alerts, class-leading panoramic sunroof and smart door handles.

The new Mahindra XUV700 will be built on the all-new global SUV platform - W601 and the carmaker claim that it will feature several first-in-segment technologies and features. It is likely to go on sale in the country around September. However, the company is yet to announce an official launch date. The SUV will be manufactured at the company's Chakan manufacturing plant in Maharashtra.
Based on previous spy images, the 2021 Mahindra XUV700 SUV will sport exterior elements like a signature-style chrome grille, aggressive-looking LED headlamps with LED DRLs, larger alloy wheels, C-shaped wraparound LED taillights and more. On the inside, the SUV will get dual screens for the digital console and the infotainment system, electrically adjustable front seats with memory function, drive modes, engine start-stop, Level 1 autonomous driving, panoramic sunroof, among others.

The Mahindra XUV700 will also get Smart Door Handles feature, which will be a segment-first offering.

The new Mahindra XUV700 is expected to come with a choice of petrol and diesel powertrains. While the petrol mill is likely to be Mahindra's new 2.0-litre mStallion turbocharged unit, the oil burner could be a new 2.0-litre engine. Both engines are likely to be paired with a manual along with an optional automatic transmission, and optional All-Wheel-Drive (AWD) system. Prices for the Mahindra XUV700 is expected to begin from Rs. 15 lakh (ex-showroom).
