Car Sales October 2021: Tata Motors Sees 32% Growth Over September

- Tata Motors' passenger vehicle sales stood at 33,925 units

Tata Motors, the country's third-largest passenger vehicle manufacture by volume, has released the monthly sales numbers for October 2021. Last month the company's total domestic passenger vehicle sales stood at 33,925 units, a year-on-year growth of 44 per cent compared to 23,617 units sold during the same month in 2020. At the same time, compared to 25,730 vehicles sold in September 2021, the company witnessed a month-on-month growth of 32 per cent. Tata's total domestic PV sales include 32,339 Internal Combustions Engine (ICE) vehicles and 1,586 electric vehicles (EVs).

Tata Motors sold 1,586 electric vehicles (EVs) in October 2021
As for the company's commercial vehicle sales, Tata Motors sold 31,226 units in the domestic market in October 2021, a 20 per cent growth compared to 26,052 units sold during the same month last year. At the same time, compared to 30,258 commercial vehicles sold in September 2021, the company saw a MoM growth of 3 per cent. It was the SCV cargo and pickup segment that performed quite well for Tata Motors, with the company selling 17,025, 14 per cent more compared to September 2021. At the same time, the Medium and Heavy Commercial vehicle segment saw an 11 per cent MoM decline at 7,644 units.

As for exports, last month, Tata Motors exported 230 passenger vehicles, witnessing a 90 per cent decline, compared to 2463 units exported in October 2020. On the other hand, compared to 3168 units exported in September 2021, the company saw a MoM decline of 92 per cent. At the same time CV exports for October 2021 stood at 2,448 units, a marginal 1 per cent YoY growth compared to 2,420 vehicles exported in October 2020, but a considerable 18 per cent MoM decline against the 3,000 units exported in September 2021.
