Maruti Suzuki Announces Price Cut On Eeco Ambulance As Government Reduces GST

- Maruti Suzuki has implemented reduced GST rates on the Eeco Ambulance
- The GST rate on Eeco Ambulance reduced from 28% to 12% till Sept 30, 2021
- The Maruti Eeco Ambulance is now priced at Rs. 6.16 lakh (ex-showroom)
Maruti Suzuki India has reduced prices of the ambulance version of its Eeco van. The automaker announced the same through a regulatory filing with the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE). The Maruti Eeco Ambulance is now priced at Rs. 6.16 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The new prices are in line with revised GST rates on Ambulance that have come down from 28 per cent to 12 per cent. Do note, the relief of reduced GST rates has been given till September 30, 2021.

In a regulatory filing, Maruti Suzuki said, "As per the Notification No. 05/2021, released by the Ministry of Finance, the GST rate on Eeco Ambulance has been reduced from 28% to 12% till September 30, 2021. Accordingly, there will be a reduction in the ex-Showroom price of Eeco Ambulance and the revised ex-showroom price applicable in Delhi will be Rs. 6,16,875."

The Maruti Eeco Ambulance is now priced at Rs. 6.16 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
The carmaker also stated in the BSE filing that this change is applicable for vehicles invoiced by the company to dealers as well as vehicles invoiced by dealerships to customers with effect from June 14, 2021.
The Maruti Suzuki Eeco Ambulance comes powered by the same 1.2-litre, four-cylinder engine that powers a range of Maruti's BS6 models. It churns out 72 bhp and 98 Nm of peak torque. The engine is paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox.

This announcement was recently made during the 44th GST Council meeting chaired by Union Finance & Corporate Affairs Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. The council also lowered GST rates on specified items being used in Covid-19 relief and management including life various drugs, Covid testing kits, medical oxygen, oxygen concentrators, ventilators, and bi-pap machines.
