Although the engine will be shared with the Hero Xtreme 200R, the Hero XPulse will have a slightly different state of tune, possibly changing the gearing and chain sprocket size to give it more punch lower in the revs for better off-road use. While Hero is yet to confirm what changes the XPulse will have, Le Masson said that there are several ways to change the tune of the engine, and more details will only be revealed closer to the official unveil and launch of the XPulse.
The Hero XPulse adventure concept was first unveiled at the EICMA 2017 show in Milan, Italy. The production version of the motorcycle will be unveiled sometime in mid-2018, and it's expected to be priced at around Rs. 1 -1.2 lakh (ex-showroom). Unlike the Hero Impulse, the Hero XPulse will have a slightly lower stance to make it more accessible to riders of different heights and build, and the bike is expected to have a kerb weight of around 140-150 kg. Once launched, the Hero XPulse will directly compete with the Royal Enfield Himalayan, offering a more affordable and fuel efficient entry-level adventure motorcycle.
