Utility vehicle giant, Mahindra and Mahindra today launched the 2016 Bolero Pik-Up with prices starting at Rs. 6.15 lakh for the BS3 version, going up to Rs. 6.30 lakh for the BS4 version (all prices, ex-showroom Pune). Essentially a facelifted version of the previous model, the new Bolero Pik-Up comes with some considerable design upgrades and some minor mechanical changes. The load carrier is being offered in two variants - 1250 kg and 1500 kg payload capacity and is the second Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) to be launched by the manufacturer in 2016, after the Imperio pick-up.

Powering the Mahindra Bolero Pik-up is a 2.5-litre four-cylinder diesel engine that is tuned to produce 70hp of power on the BS4 variant, while the BS3 version makes 63hp. Torque remains the same at 195Nm available between 1500-1800rpm. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard and the pick-up is capable of hitting a top speed of 110 kmph or 80 kmph in case of a speed limiter.

In terms of aesthetics, the Mahindra Bolero Pik-up gets subtle changes to the styling. The signature grille seen across the Bolero lineup has been retained and comes with multi-reflector headlamps and new colour options. The cabin gets a new dual-tone finish, while the instrument cluster has been upgraded with a new colour theme. The Bolero Pik-up comes with a 2765mm or nine-feet long cargo bay, which will allow owners to haul larger items as well. The automaker is also offering the Bolero Pik-up in CBC (Cowl Body Chassis) variant which will help the customers to build the Cargo Body according to their need and application.

In addition, Mahindra is providing the Bolero Pik-up with a three-year unlimited kilometres warranty on the BS3 variant, whereas the BS4 version gets a one-year unlimited kilometres warranty. Mahindra is one of the prime players in the utility vehicle space and the Bolero only adds to its extensive lineup of commercial vehicles.
