Mahindra Marazzo Autoshift (Automatic) Launch Around The Corner

- The Mahindra Marazzo Autoshift is soon expected to go on sale in India.
- It is likely to source the same AMT transmission from the XUV300.
- It gets the same 1.5-litre, four-cylinder oil burner under its hood.
There have been speculations about Mahindra pulling the plug on the Marazzo brand given the drop in both sales and thereby production numbers, of late. However, the automaker has now confirmed that the Marazzo is here to stay and in fact, more versions are on the cards starting with new 'autoshift' or AMT automatic variants. Yes! We heard about the Mahindra Marazzo automatic being in the brand's production plans back in 2019 but the launch got excessively delayed due to the BS6 transition that happened and then the COVID-19 outbreak, further extending the deferment.

The Mahindra Marazzo Automatic has also been spotted testing several times.
Speaking to Siddharth Vinayak Patankar, Editor-In-Chief- carandbike, Veejay Ram Nakra, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) - Mahindra & Mahindra said, "We are continuing the Marazzo as well and if anything, we are launching the autoshift on Marazzo. So that again is a product that we will continue and we're not stopping that brand." Nakra also mentioned that Mahindra will continue with the KUV100 brand as well and will have greater impetus on exports for the product as it sees better demand in markets like Africa and Chile among others. In India, it will also build up on the range with the eKUV which is the electric derivative of the SUV.

The Mahindra Marazzo is offered in both seven and eight seater options.
The BS6 compliant Mahindra Marazzo was launched in August last year. Under the hood, it gets the same 1.5-litre, four-cylinder diesel engine that is shared with the XUV300. The XUV300 diesel is already available with the autoshift or AMT gearbox and we expect Mahindra to source the same automatic drivetrain even in the Marazzo. The oil burner puts out 121 bhp of max power at 3,500 rpm along with 300 Nm of peak torque between 1,750 and 2,500 rpm. There is an option of a six-speed manual gearbox as well.
