Maruti Suzuki Swift S-CNG Launched; Prices Start At Rs. 7.77 Lakh

- Maruti Suzuki S-CNG has been launched at a price of Rs. 7.77 lakh (ex-showroom).
- Maruti Suzuki Swift is now the most powerful CNG hatchback in the country.
- Maruti Suzuki claims that the Swift S-CNG can return a fuel economy figure of 30.90 km/kg.
Maruti Suzuki has introduced two CNG variants to the Swift line up. The Indo-Japanese carmaker has added the S-CNG option to the hatchback's VXi & ZXi variants, adding to the appeal of the premium hatchback which is already hugely popular throughout the country. Prices for the S-CNG variant start at Rs. 7.77 lakh (ex-showroom), and the Swift will be the most powerful CNG hatchback in the country, with an output of 76.4 bhp at 6000 rpm and 98.5 Nm torque at 4,300 rpm in CNG mode. Maruti Suzuki is also claiming that the Swift S-CNG is the most fuel efficient premium hatchback, with claimed fuel economy figures of 30.90 km/kg.

Upon the launch of the Swift S-CNG, Shashank Srivastava, Senior Executive Officer, Marketing & Sales, Maruti Suzuki India Limited said, "Brand Swift needs no introduction and the iconic sporty hatchback is now available with proven & tested company-fitted Maruti Suzuki S-CNG technology. After enthralling over 26 lakh Swift lovers with its performance, styling and road presence, Swift is now available with S-CNG to delight customers with its incredible fuel efficiency of 30.90 Km/kg."
Swift becomes the ninth model in the Maruti Suzuki's line up in India to get the CNG treatment, following the likes of Dzire, WagonR, Ertiga, and others. To add the CNG kit to the Swift, Maruti Suzuki has retuned the suspension for the added weight, and has added an interdependent dual electronics control unit (ECU), and revised injection system to the premium hatchback.
