Suzuki Vitara Compact SUV Revealed; Will it Come to India?

Suzuki Motor Corporation today revealed an all-new compact SUV named 'Vitara' ahead of its global debut at the 2014 Paris Motor Show. What is interesting about this model is the platform on which it will be built. The company says that the Vitara is the production model based on the iV-4 concept, which was first exhibited at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2013. Just so you know, the iV-4 resembles the India-bound XA Alpha - which debuted at the 2012 Delhi Auto Expo and also shares its platform with the latter. However, there is no word if this Vitara will come to India or not.
I believe that launching the same car or at least a similar product is a feasible idea, since it will be global product and the company will not have to work on an India-centric design for the car. Also, now that Hyundai India is planning to launch the ix25 compact SUV, which is over 4-metres in length, Maruti Suzuki India should also consider brining in the Vitara-inspired crossover.

The company will launch the Vitara in the UK next spring, and will get an optional ALLGRIP intelligent four-wheel drive system with petrol and diesel engine options. Customers in the UK will also be presented several colour and trim customisation options.
That's all we know, for now. Stay tuned to NDTV Auto for more updates about this upcoming car.
