Tata Motors Group Reports Global Sales Of 2,51,689 Vehicles In Q2 FY2022

- Tata Motors' global wholesales for Q2 FY22 stood at 2,51,689 units
- Tata's global wholesales of passenger vehicles stood at 1,62,634 units
- Global wholesales of all Tata Motors CVs stood at 89,055 units
Tata Motors Group has released its global wholesales data for the second quarter (Q2) of Financial Year 2022 (FY22). In the quarter that ended on September 30, 2021, the automaker's global wholesales, including sales from Jaguar Land Rover, stood at 2,51,689 units. Compared to the 2,02,873 vehicles sold a year ago during the same July to September 2020 period, the company has witnessed a year-on-year (YoY) growth of 24 per cent. Having said that, we must consider the fact that last year, in the July to September 2020 period, India, and several other markets across the globe, were still coming out of a lockdown imposed due to the coronavirus pandemic. So, the comparison won't be very ideal.

At the same time, between April and June 2021, that is in Q1 FY2022, Tata Motors Group's global wholesales stood at 2,14,250 vehicles. Compared to which the company has witnessed a quarter-on-quarter (QoQ) growth of over 17 per cent. While these numbers are also impressive, we have to consider the fact that the second wave of the coronavirus again affected vehicle production and sales in India in April 2021. This means market conditions were not ideal this time either. So, these growth figures can be considered an anomaly.
