Tata Safari Vs MG Hector Plus: Price Comparison

The new Tata Safari has been finally launched in India and it goes up directly against the MG Hector Plus that has already been launched in India last month. Now both models are the six or seven seater version of their existing five seater models but there have been some updates in their dimensions and looks as well. While the MG Hector Plus is just marginally longer than the Hector, but the Tata Safari has grown by 63 mm over the Harrier and there's been some changes on the inside as well. Both models are offered with dual-tone interiors and with six or seven seater configurations.

The MG Hector is available in both petrol and diesel iterations but the Tata Safari is offered only offered with a diesel engine. Then, Tata is offering the Safari with both manual and automatic transmission options but the Hector Plus only gets manual transmission as standard. Hence, we have only compared the prices of diesel manual variants for both models and the MG Hector Plus is more affordable when compared to the Tata Safari.

Both models are slightly longer than their five seater versions.

The base variant of the MG Hector Plus undercuts the base variant of the Tata Safari by Rs. 95,000 while the price difference towards the top-end trim marginally increases to Rs. 98,000. Mahindra too is gearing up to launch the new-generation XUV500 this year which is expected to heat up the segment even more and give a tough competition to both its rivals - the Tata Safari and the MG Hector Plus.
