TVS Announces Alliance With MASESA For Sales In Central America

- The alliance will see TVS build sales volumes in Central America
- TVS will be selling its two and three wheeler range from MASESA outlets
- TVS will be distributing through MASESA's 500 dealers in Central America
TVS Motor Company has announced its alliance with Mayor Servicios Socieda Anonima (MASESA), expanding its presence in Central America. MASESA is a Guatemala-based company that deals with commercialisation of motorcycles and Tuk Tuks in the region. The Indian two-wheeler giant stated that the alliance is in line with the company's plan to expand and strengthen its presence in Central America, Latin America, South East Asia and the Middle East.
While TVS has already been selling its two-wheeler range in the region, the company hasn't seen breakthrough sales numbers. However, TVS-MASESA will see the alliance develop exclusive sales outlets in Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua and Costa Rica for the Indian bike maker's offerings. The Central American company has a network over 500 touch points for its own products at present. The push from MASESA is expected to act as a major volumes driver for TVS.
Speaking on the new alliance, TVS Motor Company - Senior Vice President - International Business, R. Dilip, said: "The unique network of distribution that MASESA has developed, makes them the best strategic ally for TVS Motor Company. With this alliance we will be able to personalise our value offers and provide the right products for our future clients throughout Central America and consolidate our presence in the area."

TVS will be exporting two and three wheelers from India and Indonesia to Central America
Samuel Espina, Regional Manager of Public Relations at MASESA, said, "We at MASESA, will represent TVS Motor Company with great passion and pride, with the objective of satisfying the demanding needs of our current and potential clients, and we will work hard to successfully consolidate our new strategic alliance. In MASESA we will distribute, with the responsibility that characterises us, all the products that TVS Motor Company provides us and we will be the best bridge between the best technology available in India and our important clients throughout Central America."
In the first phase, the alliance will establish five exhibition and sales rooms in the region which will also offer the entire range of spare parts and technical service. In turn, the TVS products will be in the 500 dealers MASESA has throughout Central America.
TVS will be exporting a host of models in the Central American region from India including the Scooty Zest, Wego, Star HLX 100/125, Phoenix 125 and Stryker 125. The Apache range including the 160, 180 and 200 cc versions will also be exported. In the commercial vehicle space, the TVS King DLX three-wheeler will be exported to Central America. From Indonesia, TVS will be exporting the Max 125 and Neo 110 models to the region.
