TVS Announces Rs. 1 Crore Fund Towards Kerala Floods Relief

TVS Motor Company has announced a donation of Rs. 1 crore for the Kerala Chief Minister's Distress Relief Fund (CMDRF), in wake of the flood situation in Kerala. The unprecedented rains that started from August 8, 2018, are said to have caused severe damage to the state since 1924. Damages to the property and crops have been estimated around Rs. 8000 crore, while over 60,000 people have been shifted to relief camps. The death toll has risen to 47 over the past week due to the heavy rains.
Commenting on the contribution, the social arm of TVS, Srinivasan Services Trust (SST), CEO, Swaran Singh said, "TVS Motor believes in supporting the communities around us especially in difficult times. Our contribution is a step towards this. Our prayers are with the people of Kerala and we sincerely hope that the situation will improve."
Over the past years, SST and TVS Motor Company have been actively involved in providing relief to victims of natural calamities across the country.
Apart from TVS, Mercedes-Benz too announced a donation of Rs. 30 lakh towards the Chief Minister's relief fund, while Volkswagen too announced that it will be extending service support towards the affected customers in the state.
