TVS Motor Company Sales Grow 18 Per Cent In July 2018

- Scooter sales grow 29 per cent in Juily 2018
- TVS despatches over 1.2 lakh motorcycles in July 2018
- Exports grow 42 per cent in July 2018
TVS Motor Company registered sales growth of 18 per cent across its product portfolio in July 2018. In all, TVS sold 3,21,179 units in July 2018, compared to 2,71,171 units in July 2017. TVS two-wheelers sold over 3 lakh units in July 2018, with the company selling nearly 2.5 lakh two-wheelers in the domestic market alone. In all, TVS sold 3,07,856 two-wheelers in July 2018, a growth of 17 per cent over July 2017 when the company had sold 2,63,336 two-wheeler units. Domestic two-wheeler sales recorder 13 per cent growth, increasing from 219,396 units in July 2017 to 247,382 units in July 2018.

TVS scooters also demonstrated strong growth numbers, with an even split among scooters and motorcycles across TVS' two-wheeler portfolio. The TVS NTorq 125 continues to attract significant consumer interest, and overall scooter sales grew by an impressive 29 per cent from 92,738 units in July 2017 to 1,18,996 units in July 2018. In comparison, motorcycle sales grew by 11 per cent, but TVS still managed to despatch 1,21,434 motorcycles in July 2018, compared to 1,09,427 units in July 2017.
The company's total exports grew by 42 per cent, from 50, 50,957 units registered in the month of July 2017 to 72,242 units in July 2018. Two-wheeler exports grew by 38% increasing from 43,940 units in July 2017 to 60,474 units in July 2018. Three-wheeler sales of the company grew by 70 per cent in July 2018, increasing from 7,835 units in July 2017 to 13,323 units registered in the same month this year.
