BYD Sealion 7 Prices To Be Hiked From January 1, 2026

BYD India has announced that it will be increasing the price of its flagship model, the BYD Sealion 7. The revised prices will come into effect from January 1, 2026, however, customers who book the electric SUV on or before December 31 will be able to benefit from the current ex-showroom prices. Currently, the BYD Sealion 7 is priced at Rs. 48.90 lakh for the Premium variants, and Rs. 54.90 lakh for the top-spec Performance trim (both ex-showroom).

The company has not given a reason for the price hike, however, we suspect it’s in line with the auto industry’s trend of increasing prices at the start of a new year. Since its launch in February 2026, the company has sold over 2000 units of the electric SUV, which is a substantial number for a premium EV in this price range.

Rajeev Chauhan, Head of Electric Passenger Vehicles (EPV) Business at BYD India, said, “With the planned price revision from early 2026, we want to ensure that customers who have been waiting to purchase the BYD SEALION 7 can still benefit from the current pricing till 31 December 2025. As we continue expanding our dealership network and enhancing customer touchpoints, the BYD SEALION 7 will remain a key pillar of BYD India’s commitment to offering advanced, sustainable, and high-performance electric mobility solutions.”

As mentioned earlier, the BYD Sealion 7 is offered in two variants, but both are powered by an 82.56 kWh battery pack. The difference comes in terms of features and drivetrain. The Premium variant is a rear-wheel drive (RWD) model, while the Performance trims are all-wheel drive (AWD) with dual motors.

The single-motor variant has a peak power output of 308 bhp, while the dual-motor version churns out a combined 523 bhp. When it comes to acceleration, the single-motor Premium variant can do the 0 to 100 kmph sprint in 6.7 seconds, while the dual-motor Performance variant can do the same in 4.5 seconds. The battery pack delivers a range of 587 km in the single-motor variant and 542 km in the Performance AWD version.

The company is also planning to expand its outlet network to serve customers better. Currently, BYD India has a network of 47 showrooms across 40 cities.
