Mahindra's SUV Production Stood At Over 22,000 Units In July

The homegrown automaker Mahindra & Mahindra has announced production figures for July 2021. The Indian utility vehicle manufacturer produced 22,016 passenger vehicles in July 2021, registering a Month-on-Month (MoM) growth of 8.4 per cent against 20,304 manufactured in June this year. Compared to 10,729 SUVs manufactured in July 2020, the company recorded a Year-on-Year (Y-o-Y) growth of over 105 per cent. Considering the market conditions were not ideal either of the two Julys, these production numbers are nothing more than a one-off anomaly.

In July 2021, the company produced 843 units of electric three-wheelers in India

As for three-wheelers and light commercial vehicles, the company manufactured 1,516 units last month against 90 units produced in the same month last year. Compared to 913 units manufactured in June 2021, the company registered a month-on-month (M-o-M) growth of 66 per cent.

Last month, the automaker manufactured 843 units of electric three-wheelers in India, recording a triple-digit growth of 254 per cent MoM against 238 electric three-wheelers produced in June this year. In July 2020, the company only produced Treo electric three-wheeler in India, which stood at 63 units. Coming to Commercial Vehicles, the company registered an MoM growth of 20 per cent to 18,393 units in July 2021, compared to 15,233 units in June 2021. In July 2020, the company produced 12,888 units.

The company's overall auto sales last month stood at 42,983 units

As for sales, the company's overall auto sales (passenger vehicles+ commercial vehicles+ exports) stood at 42,983 units, a good 67 per cent Year-on-Year (Y-o-Y) growth compared to 25,678 vehicles sold in July 2020. Mahindra's Utility Vehicle (UV) segment accounted for 21,046 units in July 2021, registering a 91 per cent growth compared to the 11,025 vehicles sold in the same month last year. The company also exported 2,123 units from India in July, seeing a decent 45 per cent growth compared to 1,467 units exported in the corresponding month last year.
