Tata Announces IMPACT Design Language for Its Future Passenger Cars

Tata Motors has visibly undergone a period of metamorphosis over the last few years. Cars like the Bolt and Zest clearly show that the Indian manufacturer is moving in the right direction when it comes to materials used, features, build quality, and aesthetics. In-line with its transformation, the company has announced that its future passenger cars will be based on its all-new IMPACT design language.
The recently unveiled Tata Zica is the first car to be launched under the IMPACT umbrella. Tata states that this new design language can be described by the phrase: 'Immediate IMPACT at first sight. Lasting IMPACT over time.' Hence it is evident that the company intends on making cars that are aesthetically bold, catchy and appealing.
President of Tata's Passenger Vehicle Business Unit Mayank Pareek stated," Today, the automakers are developing innovative technologies to cater to the needs of the new generation of customers. Design is among the key factors for car purchase decisions. Tata Motors recognizes this and presents IMPACT Design - as a key focus for the company's passenger vehicle strategy. The new, youthful, energetic and bold character of the passenger vehicles by Tata Motors is sure to make a lasting impact on our customers and on the Indian roads."
Tata's IMPACT language includes a set of key design signatures that will be adhered to while creating the interiors and exteriors of future Tata passenger cars. The exterior design will be designed to be EXciting, EXpressive and EXtraordinary whereas the interiors will be define through INviting, INtelligent and INtouch features. This means that the exterior will be designed to be aesthetically pleasing or EX-citing and EXpressive. The EXtraordinary factor comes in because certain design details will actually be inspired by Indian architecture! On the inside, Tata cars will now feature top-notch build quality and materials to ensure that the cabin is an INviting space. INtelligent design bits like cleverly located storage spaces and intuitive control toggles should improve the overall drive experience and should allow the occupants to stay IN-touch with the world inside and outside the vehicle.
Further elaborating on this topic, Mr Pratap Bose, Head of Design for Tata Motors, stated," You can either win or lose a potential customer within the first 20 seconds of them seeing a car. However, the customer stays with you based on the long-term experience they have with the product or service. IMPACT DESIGN is exactly about an Immediate and a Lasting Impact, Design has in our lives, and environment. From 'INtelligent' use of space, 'INviting' interiors and ConnectNext features that make you feel 'INtouch' with the world inside to EXpressive, EXciting', and EXtraordinary exterior features. With the Zica, we have started this journey."
