Tata Nexon To Get A New XZ Trim Option; Features Leaked

- Tata Nexon XZ variant will sit below the top-end XZ+ model
- The Nexon XZ variant will get projector headlamps and dashtop display
- Mechanically, the Nexon XZ trim will see no changes
Based on recently leaked brochure image, it has been revealed that Tata Motors will soon introduce an XZ trim option for the Nexon subcompact SUV. The new Tata Nexon XZ variant will sit below the top-of-the-line XZ+ model and will offer a bunch of premium features, in addition, to the offerings of the XT variant. Right now, the Tata Nexon is offered in four primary variants - XE, XM, XT, and XZ+. We expect the new XZ to come with a premium of up to Rs. 70,000 to 80,000 over the ex-showroom price of the XT variant.
While the design and styling are expected to see no changes in particular, on the features front, the brochure tells us that the exterior will come with a couple of add-ons like projector headlamps and shark-fin antenna with GPS. But, the LED daytime running lights, front and rear fog lamps and rear defogger remain exclusive to the XZ+ trim. The XZ trim will also get the same 16-inch alloy wheels in smiler tyres as the XT instead of the dual tone option with fatter tyres offered with the XZ+ trim.

Tata Nexon XZ trim will feature projector headlamps, and touchscreen infotainment system
The cabin, on the other hand, will offer the new signature 6.5-inch floating dash-top touchscreen infotainment system by Harman with Android Auto, message read-out and reply, voice command, and image and video playback. Like the XZ+ trim, the XZ variant also comes with voice alerts for door open, driver seatbelt reminder, low fuel warning, low brake fluid warning, park brake release alert and service reminder warnings. Other safety and comfort features will include - park assist with camera, day and night IRVM, height adjustable driver seat and front seat belts, and USB charger with fast charging function.

Mechanically, the Tata Nexon XZ will remain unchanged and will continue to come with the existing petrol and diesel engines, with no updates. The petrol variant comes with the tried and tested 1.2-litre Turbocharged Revotron engine that makes about 108 bhp and develops 170 Nm of peak torque. The new 1.5-litre turbocharged Revotorq diesel engine makes the same 108 bhp but develops 260 Nm of peak torque. Both models get the multi-drive mode - Eco, City, and Sport as standard. The Nexon is also expected to get the AMT option later this year, which was also showcased at the Auto Expo 2018, early this year in February 2018.
