Tata Motors has added a new Gold Edition to the Safari range which will make its first public appearance at the Indian Premier League 2021 (IPL 2021) in Dubai. The Tata Safari Gold Edition has been priced at Rs. 21.89 lakh and is available in two body colours- white gold an black gold. The white gold offers a contrast of dual-tone black and white where on the inside there is a mont blanc marble finish mid pad with subtle golden accents. The black gold on the other hand is finished in coffee bean inspired exterior shade. It sports radiant golden accents on the exteriors along with a dark marble finish mid pad and golden flourishes throughout the cabin.

Basically, all the chrome inserts on the outside are now replaced with gold highlights. So the tri-arrow pattern on the grille is finished in gold and you see similar inserts around the headlights. At the sides, the door handles are finished in gold and same highlights are seen on the roof rails. The Safari and Tata badging at the rear too are finished in gold. Remaining elements are exactly what you have seen in the regular Safari. So bits like those 18-inch machined alloy wheels and chunky silver bash plates remain. Even on the inside, the cabin is finished in the same oyster white colour theme and other than the mid pad with gold detailing, you see gold finish on door handles, around air-con vents, instrument panel outline and on the dashboard underlining in the black gold SUV only. The white gold continues with the piano black underline.

There have been a few additions to the features list too. The SUV is now equipped with latest features like a wireless charger, air purifier, ventilated seats which in-turn will be extended to other top-end variants as well. It also continues with the 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto along with the iRA app based connected car tech, and the Harmon tuned JBL sound system is also on-board. Mechanically, the Tata Safari Gold Edition remains unchanged and continues with the same Fiat-sourced 2.0-litre, four-cylinder diesel engine belting out 168 bhp and 350 Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to a six-speed manual transmission as standard while a Hyundai sourced six-speed torque-converter automatic transmission is optional.
