Car Sales July 2021: Mahindra Sells Over 21,000 Passenger Vehicles In The Domestic Market

- Mahindra's domestic PV sales stood at 21,046 units in July 2021
- The company's overall auto sales for the last month stood at 42,983 units
- Exports for the month of July 2021 were at 2123 vehicles
Mahindra and Mahindra has released the monthly sales numbers for the month of July 2021. Last month, the home-grown automaker's total sales (passenger vehicles + commercial vehicles + exports) stood at 42,983 units, a good 67 per cent Year-on-Year (Y-o-Y) growth compared to 25,678 vehicles sold in July 2020. Compared to 38,277 units sold in June 2021, the company saw massive growth of 12 per cent in Month-on-Month (M-o-M) sales. Mahindra's domestic sales for July 2021 stood at 40,860 units, a growth of over 68 per cent against 24,211 units sold in July last year. In the utility vehicle space alone, Mahindra sold 20,797 vehicles last month.

The company's passenger vehicle (UV + cars) sales for July 2021 stood at 21,046 units, registering a growth of 91 per cent when compared to the 11,025 units that were sold during the same month in 2020. Coming to exports, Mahindra sold 2,123 units in July 2021, seeing a decent 45 per cent growth compared to 1467 units exported in the corresponding month last year.
As for the commercial vehicle segment, Mahindra's total CV sales in July 2021 stood at 19,814 units. Compared to 13,444 units sold in June 2021, the company saw an MoM growth of over 47 per cent. however, as against 13,186 units sold in July 2020, the company witnessed a YoY growth of over 50 per cent.
According to Veejay Nakra, Chief Executive Officer, Automotive Division, M&M Ltd. said, "More than 90% of our dealerships and workshops are now operational across the country. We have seen significant increase in activity levels, enquiries and as a result, sales across our product portfolio. We sold 42983 vehicles overall and registered a growth of 91% in the Passenger Vehicles segment, over same period last year."

He further added, "While supply of semiconductors continues to be a global issue and we are doing everything to address it on priority, July has been an exciting month for us with two new product launches. We launched the Bolero Neo for the new age customer's looking for a tough, powerful, go-anywhere authentic SUV. We also launched the Supro Profittruck range of SCV's offering guaranteed higher mileage and payload and have on-boarded Ajay Devgn as the brand ambassador. Both launches have received very positive initial response and we are confident of building on this in the coming months."
