Mahindra Aims To Improve Car Buying Experience With Next-Gen 'World of SUVs' Dealerships

Mahindra and Mahindra today launched the 'World of SUVs' a range of next-generation dealerships introduced to improve the car buying experience for its customer. The new World of SUVs has been built on a new, more modern format, making use of next level digital technologies like virtual reality, digital information panels for vehicles, and tablets for paperless interaction, among others. This is not a one-off, as Mahindra has already set up over 300 such World of SUVs across the country, within a record time span of 6 months.
Speaking at the showcase of the World of SUVs, Veejay Ram Nakra, Chief of Sales and Customer Care, Automotive Division, Mahindra & Mahindra said, "The Mahindra World of SUVs is a differentiated customer experience, a synthesis of next level technology with a physical environment that showcases the brand promise of 'Live Young Live Free'. In fact, it is built on the foundation of providing convenience, transparency and personalisation."

With the new World of SUVs Mahindra has also taken a digital transformation journey to offer an end-to-end solution, from pre-purchase to purchase phases. The company is calling this the phygital (physical+digital) platform, offering a mix of both the virtual world as well the real one, backed by the its robust backend mechanism. In fact, to provide the customers visiting the new showrooms an immersive experience, Mahindra has designed the new outlets in a manner that it reflects the company's tough and rugged DNA. The World of SUVs dealerships also come with features like Wi-Fi connectivity, Customer Lounges and ReFuel counters to make customer visit more engaging. Furthermore, the showrooms will also provide VIP treatment for each vehicle on display.

For a more engaging experience, the World of SUVs showrooms will also come with a display zone for high-end SUVs such as the Mahindra Alturas G4. These high-end display areas come with VR headsets for an immersive virtual reality experience, which will be mirrored on 86-inch TV screens for the accompanying members of family or friends to see. This zone also has specially trained Relationship Managers for a personalized experience.

Talking about the use of such innovative digital mediums, Nakra said, "At Mahindra, we have always leveraged technology to re-imagine the purchase and ownership experience for our customers. For a personalized experience we have several industry-first initiatives such as SYOUV.com, Bring the Showroom Home and multiple tie-ups with portals for online booking of our vehicles at the pre-purchase stage. Further, for a seamless ownership experience, With You Hamesha is a digital platform for our existing customers."

Mahindra has also worked towards improving the sales experience with the use of digital info panel alongside every vehicle and tablets to capture customer information, thus making the interactions clutter free space and paperless. The system also comes with a Sales Genie application to capture enquiries and even personal voice assistance in test drive vehicles to provide vehicle information. With SYOUV.com customers can also schedule test drives, anytime, anywhere, without the need to come to the showroom. In addition to all these, the new World of SUVs showrooms will also sell a range of Mahindra merchandise and accessories.
