Mahindra Treo Electric Three-Wheeler Launched In Maharashtra, Priced At Rs. 2.09 Lakh

Mahindra Electric Mobility, the electric vehicle (EV) arm of Mahindra Group, has launched the Treo electric three-wheeler auto-rickshaw in Maharashtra. After FAME-II, state and early-bird subsidies, the Mahindra Treo will cost customers in the state Rs. 2.09 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai). Based on sales of L5 autos between April and October 2021, the Treo holds a segment-leading market share of 67 per cent in the electric auto category. Mahindra claims that compared to a regular CNG powered auto-rickshaw, the Treo can offer savings of up to Rs. 2 lakh over a period of 5 years, thanks to its low running cost of 50 paise per kilometre.

Suman Mishra, CEO of Mahindra Electric Mobility Limited said, "Maharashtra with its EV friendly policy has already taken the lead in electric mobility. With the launch of Mahindra Treo today, I am certain that we will help transform Maharashtra's last-mile commute to a noise and pollution-free ride."

The Treo can offer a range of up to 130 km on a single charge, and the battery pack can be fully charged, using a 16 A plug point, in 3 hours 50 minutes
The Mahindra Treo electric auto comes with a is IP65-rated Lithium-Ion battery pack that powers the electric motor to generate 8 kW or 10.7 bhp and a peak torque of 42 Nm. The vehicle can offer a range of up to 130 km on a single charge, and the battery pack can be fully charged, using a 16 A plug point, in 3 hours 50 minutes.

Mahindra is also offering a warranty of 5 years or 1,50,000 km on the battery pack. It comes with a direct drive transmission, which means it offers gearless, clutch-less driving. Plus, the company's NEMO Mobility platform helps to remotely monitor vehicle range, geo-fence, track speed, location, and a lot more. So far Mahindra has launched over 13,000 electric three-wheelers in India.
