2022 Yamaha Tenere 700 Unveiled For Europe, North America

- 2022 Yamaha Tenere 700 gets new liveries, no mechanical updates
- 689 cc, parallel-twin engine makes 72.4 bhp, 68 Nm
- Kerb weight of just 200 kg, no electronics apart from ABS
The Yamaha Tenere 700 may not be offered on sale in India, but it's one adventure bike that definitely deserves to be manufactured and sold in India! The relatively light, affordable and highly capable adventure bike has been quite the impressive performer, both for customers, as well as for Yamaha in European markets and North America since it was introduced in 2019. The Tenere 700 is said to offer the perfect combination of an engaging engine, lightweight and nimble package, as well as competitive price. Now, for 2022, Yamaha has given the Tenere 700 fresh appeal with new liveries.

The Tenere 700 gets the 689 cc, parallel-twin CP2 engine, a vertical, rally-style LCD instrument console, and a rally-inspired design with a headlight with four LEDs and a tall windshield.
With Yamaha's reputed CP2 engine, long-travel suspension, a 21-inch front and 18-inch wire spoked wheel combination, and a kerb weight of just over 200 kg, the Tenere 700 promises to be a fun, and nimble adventure touring motorcycle, with very good off-road capability. There's standard ABS, which is switchable for off-road use, but apart from that, there are no other electronic riding aids. So, there's no traction control, no riding modes, and no fancy electronics.

For 2022, the Yamaha Tenere 700 only gets new liveries; there are no mechanical changes to the bike.
For 2022, there are no mechanical changes, and it continues to be powered by the same 689 cc, parallel-twin engine which puts out 72.4 bhp of power at 9,000 rpm and 68 Nm of peak torque at 6,500 rpm. The bike will be available from January 2022 in Icon Blue, inspired by the brand's racing bikes, with blue body panels and anodised blue wheel rims.

The 2022 Yamaha Tenere 700 is also offered in a Midnight Black colour shade, with an all-black body and blacked out wheel rims.
Also offered is a second colour, called Midnight Black, with an all-black body with black wheel rims. The 2022 Yamaha Tenere 700 Rally Edition will be available in a new Heritage White colour, with an all-white body, as well as Yamaha's red speed graphics. The Rally Edition also gets a red and black seat and gold wheel rims.

The 2022 Yamaha Tenere 700 Rally Edition is offered in a unique colour shade, and gets a few premium parts from the Yamaha parts catalogue.
The Tenere 700 has a design inspired by rally bikes with a headlamp with four LEDs and a tall windshield. The instrument console is LCD, but also inspired by rally models with a vertical design. The 16-litre fuel tank is long and narrow, and the seat also is flat and slim, offering good leverage for the rider to move around while riding off-road.

The Yamaha Tenere 700 promises to be a fun and off-road capable adventure touring motorcycle. Sadly, it's not offered on sale in India.
The Tenere 700 doesn't seem like it will be launched in India anytime soon, but we do hope India Yamaha re-considers its decision, and does think about a strategy to offer it here in India. It sure promises to be a fun and extremely versatile motorcycle!
