Mahindra & Mahindra recently issued a recall for 29,878 units of its Pik-Up vehicles for inspection and replacement of a faulty fluid pipe for suspicion of improper assembly. The home-grown automaker, through a regulatory filing with the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), stated that this proactive recall is limited to the vehicles manufactured between January 2020 and February 2021. The inspection and rectification will carry out the inspection and subsequent rectification free of cost.

The company said in an official statement that this recall is limited to a batch of 29,878 vehicles and is keeping in line with the company's customer-centric approach. This action is also in compliance with voluntary code on vehicle recall."

In a regulatory filing, Mahindra said, "The inspection and subsequent rectification will be carried out free of cost for all customers, who will be individually contacted by the company. In an endeavour to ensure a hassle-free experience for its customers, the company is proactively carrying out this activity."

Last month, Mahindra had recalled around 600 vehicles manufactured at Nashik facility over suspicion of premature wear of engine parts due to contaminated fuel. The affected vehicles were manufactured at the facility between June 21 to July 2, 2021.
