Maruti Suzuki Alto Now Available With Driver Airbag as Option

Considering that the Alto has been India's largest selling car for 10 years in a row, and is still selling an average of 22,000 units a month, the move to improve safety in the car doesn't come as a surprise. The standard version of the Alto with the option of the airbag is now priced at Rs. 2.62 lakh while the LXI variant of the K10 with the airbag costs Rs. 3.45 lakh (all prices ex-showroom Delhi)

Maruti Suzuki has been upped the quotient by introducing enhanced safety equipment in a large number of models. We've already seen Dual airbags with ABS and EBD offered as standard across variants of S-Cross and Baleno. This was followed by making dual airbags, ABS with EBD available as an option in all variants of Ciaz, Eritga, DZire, WagonR and Celerio.

Mr. R S Kalsi, Executive Director, Marketing & Sales, Maruti Suzuki, said: "With driver airbag being offered from the base variant upward as an option for the Alto, a very large number of car customers in India will feel reassured. We have offered enhanced safety features, from the base variants, across our model range, ahead of regulations."
While the airbag is still not part of standard equipment on the Alto but the left outside rear view mirror will be made available across all variants of Alto
