Tata Tiago And Tigor CNG Launched In India; Prices Start At Rs. 6.10 Lakh

- The Tata Tiago and Tigor CNG are based on their standard petrol model.
- Both are identical in terms of looks and features to the petrol models.

Tata Motors has launched the Tiago iCNG and Tigor iCNG in India with prices starting from Rs. 6.10 lakh for the Tiago CNG and Rs. 7.70 lakh for Tigor iCNG. Tata Motors has also introduced a new range-topping XZ+ variant on both models. The Tata Taigo iCNG is being offered in five variants - XE, XM, XT, XZ+ (ST) and XZ+ (DT) while the Tata Tigor iCNG is available in three variants - XZ, XZ+ (ST) and XZ+ (DT). Both models are based on their respective petrol models and in terms of pricing, they are around Rs. 1 lakh more expensive than the petrol variant. Both models also look identical to the standard car, save for the iCNG badging and are also quite similar in terms of creature comforts and engine options.

The Tata Tiago iCNG is offered in five variants.
Tata Tiago iCNG, Tigor iCNG Engine Options
Speaking of the engine, the Tata Tiago iCNG and Tigor iCNG are powered by the same 1.2-litre Revotron petrol engine which is tuned to belt out 72 bhp and 95 Nm of peak torque, while transmission duties are carried out by a five-speed manual gearbox as standard. The suspension of both models have also been retuned considering the additional weight of the CNG kit.
The Tata Tiago iCNG has a ground clearance of 165 mm while the Tigor iCNG stands 168 mm higher from the ground. Given the steep hike in fuel prices last year, people are looking for alternatives to petrol and diesel powered vehicles and CNG have been quite in demand of late, especially in metro cities. Even the government has been giving a greater impetus on CNG fuel.

Both models also share the features list with the respective variants of their standard derivatives. So in terms of creature comforts, the range-topping variants come loaded with bells and whistles like powered wing mirrors. 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a JBL-Harmon sound system along with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone connectivity options, height adjustable driver seat and reach adjust for steering wheel among others. Both models also come with safety features like close fuel lid warning on the digital-instrument cluster and the engine won't start if the fuel lid is open.
